About this program

REAP provides grants and loan guarantees for agricultural producers and rural small businesses to install renewable energy systems (solar, wind, geothermal) or make energy efficiency improvements. Grants cover up to 40% of eligible project costs. This is one of the most underutilized rural programs — most qualifying farmers don't know it exists.

Who qualifies?

Agricultural producers with at least 50% of gross income from agricultural operations. Rural small businesses in areas with populations under 50,000.

What you get

Grants covering up to 40% of eligible project costs. Combined with loan guarantees up to 75% of project costs, making renewable energy very affordable.
